2012 sees a slight change in the rules:-
1. As long as the player turns 5 years of age by the end of the calendar year 2012, they are
eligible to play under 6 in 2012;
2. FB Player Age Policy - NO player shall be allowed to play outside their age group so please
register your child in their correct age group – please see table that follows. Please contact
one of our committee members if you have any questions relating to your child’s correct
playing age group.
PLEASE NOTE : Player age policy is NOT a North Star ruling, it has been put in place by
Football Brisbane and will be active at all clubs across Brisbane.
Prior to commencing online registration, please make sure you check the table below for the players correct online age
group package name as registration fees are calculated on the basis of your choice.

REGISTRATION FEES and MATCH FEES
In 2012 the North Star Committee have seen the need to change our fee structure - we have
lowered the initial payment required to be paid in full on registration.
We are extremely aware of the need to keep costs as low as possible for our members and one of
the toughest decisions any committee makes every year relates to registration fees.
This season has seen an increase of approximately $12.00 per junior player in relation to the Football
Queensland and Football Brisbane association fees. As a club, we attempt to keep the registration
fees as reasonable as possible, however in 2012, this is a cost increase that we as a club cannot
absorb. We have no other choice but to pass this increase onto our members. Add to this increases
in the cost of utilities such as electricity, rates, as well as CPI increases in general, insurance costs
($7,500), re-generation of the main field ($23,000), changes to dressing room facilities and upgrades
to lights (outside of the grants received), it has been necessary to look at our cost base of all
registration fees across the board.
We are confident our members will understand the need for the increases in fees and any surplus
funds will be diverted back into club improvements.
The table below outlines changes to the registration fee structure for 2012:-

There are many sports around Australia that are subsidised through the Government, Sporting
and/or other institutions. Unfortunately, football (soccer) is not one of them.
All costs associated with the management and running of North Star are bourne from club funds.
We, as any other football club, rely heavily on the unselfish contribution of coaches and managers,
executive and general committee members, canteen staff, grounds maintenance staff, and the list
goes on. Without the assistance of these volunteers, registration/playing costs would be almost
unattainable by the average family.
